A getaway to Greece is always a good idea. Since prices are low after the crisis, then why not to visit it.
Top tourist destinations in the central of Athens are:
a) Kolonaki – you can find all sort of shops you want; where you can definitely do your shopping therapy in Ermou.
b) Sintagma square – where the Constitution of Greece is located there and is named after the first constitution adopted in the modern Greek State which is called “Sintagma”.
c) Monastiraki – lots of touristic shops and cafe restaurants; worth to visit 360 Coctailbar which is a rooftop bar and you will definitely enjoy the view of Athens in 360 degrees.
d) Thanasis and Dia Tauta restaurants – traditional kebab aka gyros and amazing sea food where you can enjoy live Greek music
e) Acropolis of Athens and the Parthenon – Parthenon was built in respect to the goddess of wisdom Athena, hence the name comes from the ancient word parthenon – the temple of virgin. Situated in Acropolis which is a hill chosen for purposes of defence in the past.
I hope I have helped with this blog post and please do not hesitate to ask me for further information.
P.S I have to say I feel so proud to call myself Greek, particularly for the ancient Greeks who played contributory role for the next generations and civilizations 🙂
I am so bored on the plane therefore I am using my time to write another blog post for my blog. It’s fun.Why not? 🥲
So, I visited Brussels, the capital of Europe. People would argue that it is not a very interesting city compared to other European cities such as Amsterdam and Paris. I slightly agree on that, however I wouldn’t underestimate this city as there are many hidden and local places to discover as tourist. I wasn’t fond of travelling over there from Cyprus until my mind changed when I tried a spectacular waffle with caramel syrup, nutella, biscuit and cream on the top – my goodness, what a balanced diet 😹🧇🥹🤰🏻
I dare to recommend that you need 2-3 full days i.e a weekend to wander around Belgium and visit the main touristic attractions which I will specify below for your convenience. Mainly these attractions are found in the city centre of Brussels which is:
1. Grant place
2. Saint-Michel Cathedral
3. Royal Museum of Fine Arts
4. Atomium
5. Mont des Arts
6. Chocolate museum
7. Parc du Cinquantenaire
I wanted to visit the Museum of Fine Arts but my legs couldn’t cope up with the pain of walking distance anymore, thus i slightly regret on that.
Let me know for any feedback for the museum if you had visited it- but do not provide me with much of details because I will regret it more 😂.
With respect to other cities I highly recommend to visit Bruges which is an hour away from the capital and spend the day there.. You will need to take the train which costs around 13-15 euros. There are many local shops, restaurants and bars worth of visiting. You could also take a boat and do a 45 mins river trip.
On your way back to Brussels , you could drop by to another city called Ghent City. It’s a small city and there is only one place that I liked basically called Graslei – a quay in the historic city centre.
For those who love medieval history I believe they will find it very interesting.
Overall, I had a great time as I spent it with my crazy brother and sister and eating waffles and chocolates all day! (Oh my days or perhaps should I say ohh my diet …….🙈).
I delayed to write a blog post about Paris since it is so cliché, but then I said why not!
Maybe some people find it useful with my insights and recommendations. Always, love to help.
So I visited France for the second time, particularly Paris.
The first time was in summer 2012 and the second time this winter of 2022. Wow – ten whole years later- that’s a long time in fact.
There is something magical and inspiring about Paris because of the romantic atmosphere that encapsulates. I believe the majority of the people who visited this city agree with me.
I don’t know where to start from and definitely I know that I can’t stop describing the beautiful places that this city offers and the monuments that are worth visiting.
There are so many but I will stick to the basics for someone who wishes to stay for a period of 4-5 days.
Is it the Eiffel Tower, The Notre Dame, the Champs Elysse avenue, the Seine river, the Louvre museum, the little Parisians mystical roads and the hidden local restaurants, bars and coffee shops?
Who doesn’t love au pain de chocolate?
Even my mum loves it who is not font of chocolate. 🍫
There are so many local brasseries that produces warm au pain de chocolates.
I suggest eating them in the morning where the bread is still warm and it can be eaten fresh. Combine it with a cup of hot chocolate and voila- there you go! You are falling in love! 😻
When I visit a city like Paris, I just walk around, wander and enter into buildings or cafes/ restaurants when I feel it like. Normal right? I rarely book in advanced especially in Europe unless the place is promising and spectacular. I leave my instinct to guide me rather planning all day and night before. 🌠
I must admit a little plan is required but if you want to have fun please don’t overdo it with planning🤪.
